Location: 600 Gormanville Rd., North Bay Roofer: Designed Roofing Inc. A few years ago John Lechlitner, owner of PML Traders, made the decision to reroof his facility with a Sika Sarnafil Roofing System. The existing metal roof had been giving him problems, and he was looking for a long term solution. Unfortunately, PML Traders facility has recently experienced a fire, thankfully no one was hurt. The following excerpt was taken from the local newspaper. North Bay Nugget: Tuesday September 9th 2008 A flame-resistant roof prevented several businesses from being destroyed in Sunday's fire at 600 Gormanville Road. The building owner, John Lechlitner, told The Nugget Monday, he's thankful he invested in a “Cadillac” type roof. “Thankfully we went with that type of roof because it contained the fire, especially when they (the fire department) had no water” he said. “ It's one of those times when you spend money on the Cadillac and you're happy that you did. We knew from the fire department that there were several hydrants that didn't work....” Frank Valenti, c-owner of Designed Roofing, said a Sarnafil PVC roof reduced the amount of flame spread and could reduce the amount of damage sustained from the fire. This is just another benefit that comes with using a Sika Sarnafil Roofing System. Hopefully you never need to use this benefit, but it is comforting to know it's there to be called upon.
