Description

Building owners vision:

  • Clean architecture, modern design
  • golden rule of ratios
  • patterning important (used 2 colours to enhance design|)
  • metal / stucco
  • pattern on the windows
  • lines in ratios
  • complete use of rainscreen system (tricky design with stucco, canopies and ACM)
  • only challenge was because of the metallic nature of the colouring of the ACM, colour matching the signs was a bit more difficult
  • project went very smooth, no problems
  • older area of SSM (seeing some modernization and redevelopment of older sites)
  • certainly use Citadel again

PHI Dental - PHI, also known as the golden ratio - was the inspiration of this new dental office.

"Our client tasked us with designing a building that was inspired by the name of the business and use the Golden Ratio rule in the design" Jeanette Biemann, Principal - Director of Engineering, EPOH Inc.

The owner wanted EPOH to incorporate the principle of PHI and design a building with a clean, modern look. Colour and materials were carefully picked to be used in combination with each other and panel reveals were aligned with the window mullions to create the wanted look.

"The Reserve White ACM panels 'pop' against the Gun Metal Grey ACM and stucco to create this visually pleasing building, all keeping with the principle of PHI. We'd certainly use Citadel ACM panels in our future projects." This project was constructed in an older area of Sault Ste. Marie, in a neighborhood that is seeing some modernization and redevelopment of older sites. With the help of the contractor, Saldan, and suppliers, the project ran very smoothly and was an overall success.
The Envelope 2000 RS system is a fabricated aluminum composite panel system that allows for drainage of incidental moisture and was fabricated in Northern Ontario.

Envelope 2000® is a composite panel for exterior use made by laminating an aluminum skin to a substrate of thermoset phenolic resin. A second aluminum skin is added as a backer and provides thermal stability and panel balance. This system is designed for use as exterior cladding on walls, canopies, fascia, and accent bands. However, Envelope 2000® is also ideal for other applications where a high end look is desired.

Similar to Panel 20®, Envelope 2000® is impact resistant, water resistant, and provides ultimate smoothness in a variety of finishes. However, a thicker core and fully fabricated attachment systems takes this panel to the next level in exterior cladding.
